A color script is a visual roadmap of a film’s story, including the usage of color. It is very similar to a storyboard, however, the visual color element adds an additional layer to evoke certain emotions, moods, and highlight pivotal moments
Color scripts are very important in order to establish visual cohesion, but also to make sure that the emotional impact of a scene aligns with the director’s vision. Oftentimes, a black and white storyboard is not sufficient for such purposes.
