Group Work
Project Managers: For group work this week, your group will assemble all of your assets into sets by referencing them into a file. This allows you to make changes to individual assets and save those changes across all sets that use them! Your group should also finish rigging your characters (adding controllers + constraints) by next week so that you can begin animating!
TODO: Set Dressing
Once you have all your shaded assets and sets/environments modeled, it’s time to begin assembling the sets in a process known as set dressing.
Create a new scene file for each set and begin referencing your assets in and placing them around to decorate the set.
TODO: Finish Rigging Characters
You must create a skeleton and add necessary blendshapes to your characters before continuing!
Now that your characters have bones, you need to add controllers and constraints to be able to control those bones (a.k.a. joints).
Once you’ve created the controllers, you can begin skinning your characters. Depending on how complicated your character’s geometry is, skinning can vary in difficulty.
We recommend using the automatic skinning for now to do basic animation. As long as you reference the character rig into scenes, you can adjust the skinning (through weight painting) later on and have it update across all your animations!
Note: Please make sure to create blendshapes BEFORE skinning, otherwise the blendshapes will not work!
