Group Work
Project Managers: For group work this week, you will refine the blocking animation for your short. Your group will add more to the initial blocking to achieve the principles of animation and improve the quality of your animation. We recommend sticking to the same assigned shots you did when blocking.
If you would like to improve the skinning of your rigs as well, make sure to update the referenced rig file so that it propagates across all animated shots using the rig.
DO NOT KEY THE MASTER CONTROLLER
Never keyframe the master controller! Recall that the master controller is the highest controller in the hierarchy. The purpose of the master controller is to allow you to move the whole animation in case something needs to be adjusted. Movement should be done using other controllers, such as the Center of Gravity (CoG) controller.
TODO: Refine Blocking Animation
Refine your blocking animation! Add more expressions to your existing shots and try to apply principles of animation such as follow-through or squash and stretch when applicable!
You can use the critique given during class to make adjustments as well!
If you would like to have your updated animation critiqued in class, please submit a playblast to the Critique #1 (Optional) assignment on Gradescope.
TODO: Peer Feedback
You must also provide feedback to your fellow peers (from either section). On Discord, go to the #discussion channel and find the Animation Feedback thread. You must provide feedback for at least TWO other groups.
You can access each group’s work at this Google Drive link.
NOTE: All group work will be uploaded in Google Drive after Wednesday’s section finishes this week.
